Yesterday, as I was waiting to board my flight, I scrolled through Twitter and learned about the passing of beloved dancer, DJ, father and husband, Stephen "tWitch" Boss. And for a few moments, I found myself at a loss for words.
It's easy to come on here and say, "Take care of yourself." or "Be sure to check on your people." But today I wanted to remind you to take care of yourself FIRST. We all know how important it is to take care of our mental and physical wellbeing, but what we often forget is that we have to also be our first priority.
I don't know about you, but most of the time I have to battle with feeling selfish when I prioritize myself or I get so wrapped up in my day and serving everyone else, that I end up putting my own well-being on the backburner.
But in order for you to be the best mother, partner, friend or entrepreneur that you want to be, you have to put your mental health first. Even when it feels hard. Even when you feel like you don't have time. Or when your to-do list is full.
I'm sure that I can speak for a lot of people who love you when I say, WE NEED YOU HERE. So do what you have to do to take care of yourself ♥️
