Hey friend,
For obvious reasons, in my free time I have been digging into learning more about the business of running a newsletter based company.
The other night as I was scrolling through Substack while in bed, I came across Moorea Seals newsletter. You may know Moorea Seal as the author of the 52 Lists Journals which have sold over 1.2 million copies since being released. 🤯
So I'm in bed, scrolling through her archives (she writes a really great newsletter btw) and something popped out at me through every issue I consumed.
I noticed that Moorea is unapologetic about asking for what she wants. Throughout each issue that she writes, she lets it be known several times how we as subscribers can support her content by upgrading to a paid subscription.
She doesn't shy away from it. She lets you know up front, this is what I need.
I know for a lot of us, we can be really timid when it comes to asking for what we desire. Whether it be in business, at work or in a relationship. But as our great ancestors once said...
"Closed mouths don't get fed."
In her newsletters, Moorea makes it known that her content is reader supported and the paid subscriptions are what continue to make it possible. She also does a great job at reiterating the value in being a paid subscriber.
And she has thousands of people supporting her 🤷🏽♀️
She has inspired me this year to boldly ask for what I want both in and out of my business. And I hope this also gives you the nudge you need to put yourself out there as well.
Cheers to a restful week!
