Happy Wednesday friend.
As I'm sitting here planning out this issue for you like I do every single Tuesday, this week I'm finding it hard to pull it together.
I don't know if it's the warm sun shining outside, the fact that I have some quiet time to myself or if the recent tragedy that took place in Nashville is really weighing on my heart, but I'm struggling to stay motivated right now.
But the problem is, I can't afford to stay in this space. I have deadlines and goals that need to be met. And outside of my regular self-care routine and "me day", in this current season that i'm in, there isn't much room for procrastination.
So while I'd rather be in the bed coloring on my iPad or aimlessly walking through Target, here's what I'm asking myself instead.
Why am I feeling unmotivated?
Lack of motivation can often be a hint that burnout is brewing. Are you pushing yourself to the limit? Have you gotten adequate rest? In my case, I feel rested but feel that I could really benefit from a change of scenery.
What normally motivates me?
I want Mind Body Brand to be a household name among entrepreneurs and I want to be a best selling author. While I may be struggling to do the small tasks right now, thinking about those ultimate goals and the impact i'll be able to make always lights a fire under me to keep moving forward. So that's what I try to focus on.
What small task can I accomplish that will have a big impact?
Trying to accomplish the whole goal while you're already feeling unmotivated is just going to turn into frustration. Instead, bite off the smallest piece that will have the biggest impact. For me, it's this newsletter. For you it could be simply designing new graphics or clearing out your inbox.
If you're currently feeling unmotivated, I encourage you to walk through these three questions too. Being unmotivated happens but sometimes you have to shake it off to continue moving forward.
