Happy Wednesday friend!
Over the course of my career as an entrepreneur, I have prided myself on doing the absolute most. When most entrepreneurs were launching regular membership programs, I decided to create a membership that also came with a workbook that was shipped to your door. When I was coaching, I’d add on multiple extra calls and a ton of done-for-you templates instead of just focusing on what my clients needed the most.
For those on the outside looking in, they applauded my ability to make doing the most look easy but on the inside, I was completely overwhelmed with anxiety. Yes, doing the most made for an incredible client experience, it made me money and attracted my dream clients, but trying to keep up left me feeling defeated.
Fast forward to present day and I’ve finally recognized that I am still constantly adding more and more onto my already full plate. I’m focusing on this newsletter, im launching an event and trying to manage an online community while also keeping up with the day to day inner-workings of building a new business. And guess who has been becoming increasingly overwhelmed and anxious by the day? ME.🙋🏽♀️
Why am I like this? I’ve realized that I’ve placed so much of my value as an entrepreneur in how hard I work. Somewhere deep down inside, I don’t believe that what I have to offer is worth purchasing if it doesn’t come with all of the bells and whistles. In my mind, it just doesn’t click that if I do the bare minimum really well that that could be financially sustainable. Can you relate?
I know that I can’t keep up with this while also trying to practice what I preach. I’m building a wellness business that encourages women entrepreneurs to rest and yet here I am…doing the complete opposite.
So i’ve decided to challenge these thoughts. In this current season that i’m in, I feel called to simplify and focus. To remove things off my plate and fully give my all to what will help me get to my ultimate goal. That goal being, writing.
As you can see I’ve officially moved over to Substack, a platform that fully supports writers and their work. And I’ve officially announced that I am closing my online community at the end of the month. Moving forward, I will use this space to not only become a better writer but to also build community around the topics that we discuss every week.
Do I know if this will be the thing that sticks? No. No one knows. But i’m willing to try and then pivot unapologetically if necessary.
Cheers to an incredible week!
