Issue #73: The Power In Taking One Hour A Day To Rest
How "The ME Hour" helps you to spend at least one hour a day on yourself.

If there is an imaginary hill that I have chosen to die on, it would be the fact that I believe that EVERYONE should spend at least one hour a day fully focusing on themselves. One hour, at MINIMUM!
And no this isn’t some vanity metric that I’m trying to market to you. Spending one hour a day on rest or self-care has a lot of benefits like increased productivity, reduced stress and anxiety, better work/life balance, and more. Not to mention the fact that we are gifted 24 hours of life every single day. The least we can do is spend one of those hours taking better care of ourselves.
But I understand how intimidating committing one hour a day can feel. If you’re an entrepreneur who is running a business, maybe working a 9 to 5, managing your household, and a lot of other responsibilities, then you’re probably rolling your eyes at the thought of using one of those hours on yourself. Especially if it’s not something that you often make a priority.
If this sounds familiar, then let me introduce you to The “ME” Hour. The ME Hour is a simple framework that I created to help you take at least one hour a day to prioritize rest.
It looks like this:
MIND: Spend 15 minutes on a mindfulness activity. This could be journaling, reading a book, or doing a meditation.
BODY: Spend 15 minutes on movement. This could be taking a quick walk, going out to water your plants, or dancing to your favorite playlist.
JOY: Spend 30 minutes on something that brings you joy.
This quick routine allows you to focus on your entire well-being in just one hour. And the best part about this framework is that you can customize it to fit your needs and busy schedule.
Truly don’t have one whole hour to commit? Split this hour up throughout the day.
Want to spend more time on movement than in the other areas? Shift the times to fit your desires.
The point is for you to spend at least one hour of your day on YOU! If you’re interested in seeing how I spend my hour, I plan to share more on Instagram and TikTok!
Let me know in the comments how you plan to spend one hour on yourself today.
Cheers to a restful week!
